This Maintenance Worker Supervisor position is located within Richmond National Battlefield Park and Maggie L. Walker National Historic Site, Region One, National Park Service. Serves as the Supervisor for Grounds, Roads and Trails Branch for the entire Park and is responsible for the planning, supervision and management of his/her branch operation. Also establishes long-range work requirements and schedules. Serves as the Park's technical expert for the activities under his/her direction.
Duties
Responsible for daily workflow for Grounds, Roads and Trails Branch at park units as well as the maintenance shop activities.
Assists the Chief of Maintenance with developing annual work plans and budgets. Conduct annual condition assessments and tracks and reports all labor, material and equipment orders utilizing Facility Management Software System.
Performs typical administrative functions of a Supervisor such as preparing recruitment packages, classification packages, on and off boarding of staff, implementing short term work plans, assigning work, directing, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others, writing scopes of work (SOW) overseeing various programs and agreements (e.g. youth activities) overseeing and tracking of budgets.
Provides experienced and professional services and administrative supervision over subordinates performing various trades and labor occupations.
Provides professional and technical support and knowledge on utilities, trades, and crafts such as various road repair and maintenance, landscape maintenance for grasses, shrubs and trees, drainage, storm sewer systems, painting, trails, grounds keeping, and janitorial services.
