The primary purpose of this position, AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC LEADER, WL-6652-10, is to provide a working and training leader for assigned aircraft and Ordnance system mechanics providing on-equipment maintenance for the squadron.
Duty Title: B-1, B-2, B-52 Weapons Expediter
Duties
Lead and work with a team of military and civilian employees on the B-1/B-2/B-52 Bomber aircraft, primarily Aircraft Ordnance System Mechanics, but also coordinate with others to ensure weapon program needs are met.
Personally perform and lead others in the performance of functionally testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, munitions loading, and configuring a variety of, test, pre-production, standard and modified high performance tests.
Personally perform or lead others in the performance of munitions loading/unloading, including the pre-flight, post flight, arming, safing, performing munitions end of run way inspections, etc.
Personally perform or lead others in the maintenance of aircraft and maintenance records.
Perform ground handling and servicing of assigned aircraft, including the preflight, post flight, launch, recovery, refueling, towing, washing, lubricating, jacking, etc.

- Incumbent must be able to communicate effectively with students, both by oral means and by demonstrating work methods and techniques, particularly when utilizing on-the-job training methods.
- PHYSICAL: This position requires a pre-employment physical.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-6600 Armament Work Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires ability to lift, hold equipment that weigh up to 20 lbs, and occasionally lifts and carries items that weigh up to 50 lbs. This requires climbing, standing, stooping, bending, stretching and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Requires normal color perceptions, good eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity. May involve some risk to exposure to radiation from ignition and radar systems. Required to wear ear protection and protective clothing while servicing aircraft systems. Ability to hear normal conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Required to perform work both inside and on the flightline in all types of desert weather conditions. Required to work around toxic chemicals. Subject to injury from high noise levels, toxic and corrosive chemicals, which could lead to dermatitis. Falls, jet engines, operational aircraft, moving vehicles and machinery, cuts, burns, electrical hazards, and strains are also possible.
