Click on "Learn more about this agency" button below for IMPORTANT additional information The primary purpose of this position is: Serves as the Information System Security Manager for policy, processes, and procedures for both technical and management approaches to the development, production, and deployment of information security systems to support day-to-day worldwide operational and intelligence commitments.

Duties

Duty 1: Regional Information System Security Manger. Provide cybersecurity support to NSA global information systems spanning all classification levels. Leads a diverse team of cybersecurity subject matter experts in developing and managing a portfolio of Approval to Operate (ATO) packages; implementing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Duty 2: Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for information assurance as it relates to service and mission support at the National Security Agency in Texas (NSAT). Duty 3: Supervision: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Duty 4 Senior Computer Systems Security Representative. Attends and participates in working groups, conferences, and meetings representing the 531 IS and the Capability directorate.

  • All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
  • Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) clearance with access to Sensitive Compa1tmented Information (SCI).

  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing
  • Incumbent is required to undergo and pass counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with periodic follow-up polygraph testing.
  • Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
  • Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. Information Assurance Management (IAM) work as a paramount duty requirement. Must obtain IAM-III certification within six months of hire or obtain a waiver not to exceed one year

Qualifications

***Salary Ranges includes local market supplement*** This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Examples of creditable experience include: Advanced knowledge of and skill in application of the concepts, and practices in two or more of the following areas: cyberspace security, computer programming, networking, computer operating systems (Windows, UNIX), malware forensics; threat analysis, operations research, artificial intelligence/machine learning; cyber incident handling and response, penetration testing, software/malware reverse engineering. the application of Information Assurance (IA), Mission Assurance (MA) and threat hunting technologies and techniques, analysis of computer systems, operating systems, network communication protocols, computer and network architectures and virtual machine (VM) technology; ability to analyze and correlate data in order to distinguish evidence of attacks or intrusions from normal activity. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. Extensive knowledge of current and new IT systems architecture, integration, and interoperability, design operations and configuration, facilities, practices and methodology, across Government and non-governmental mission partners; and emerging technologies and their application to operational processes 3: Extensive knowledge of IT management information systems and applications software technology to isolate causes of problems between hardware, system, and applications software programs and to measure system performance and/or extend operating system capabilities to support organizational business processes and operations. 4: Ability to speak and write effectively, to address highly complex technical and controversial issues (frequently in terms understandable to non-technical personnel), prepare and give briefings, chair meetings, and prepare reports and statements for senior military (General Officer/SES), government, and private sector management officials. 5: Ability to manage a small staff and carry out all phases of personnel management responsibilities. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
