You will serve as a NUCLEAR DIRECTOR in the Production Resources Department of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will coordinate and provide authoritative responses to audits, surveillances, incident and deficiency reports, shipyard Commander agenda items, and other internal and external reviews. You will direct the development of various shop policy and process guidance documents for nuclear work and other critical shop work. You will direct or coordinate the implementation of process and performance improvements. You will work with other shops to ensure an effective, coordinated nuclear program that supports the overall shipyard goals. You will develop short and long-range plans to provide manning, facilities, material, and equipment to support scheduled and unscheduled urgent nuclear and refueling/defueling work for the organizations covered. You will establish schedules to support workload forecasts, ensure specialized nuclear equipment is available and maintained, and that specialized facilities are managed and available. You will identify manning priorities and distribute personnel assignments accordingly. You will ensure materials, technical documents, facilities, and assist trades are available to support schedule and shifting priorities.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating and modifying nuclear procedures and processes to plan and implement ship repair, maintenance and overhaul projects.
