Prisoner Operations Division, Arlington, VA. The selectee of this position serves as a Detention Technology Specialist. You will be responsible for the management, direction, supervision, and coordination of district, regional, and national prisoner operations activities.

Duties

As a Detention Technology Specialist at the GS-0301-12/13 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Overseeing all major information, facility and operational security, and communication technology initiatives. Increasing the effectiveness of the detention technology infrastructure. Preparing contract monitoring and other reports in accordance with organization policies and procedures. Applying knowledge of correctional facilities operations relating to the detention, inspection, training, and transportation of inmates, in order to design and implement detention technology solutions. Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-0301-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: Specialized Experience: At least one year (12 months) of full-time specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade GS-11 in the Federal Service performing duties which include the following: 1.) Assisting in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to improve the efficiency or effectiveness of a variety of program operations; 2.) Assisting in applying, advanced detention principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices, to accomplish assignments; 3.) Identifying necessary program improvements and developing changes to detention practices, policies, or procedures; 4.) Evaluating existing and developing technologies and leveraging those technologies to keep pace with detention technology activities; 5.) Assisting in the planning and coordination of all requests for system enhancements, reviewing and approving all associated system documentation (e.g. policy documents), testing and acceptance of new builds and ensuring system deployments are successfully implemented.
