About the Position: The Logistics Management Specialist, provides logistical support for the assigned areas. Responsibilities include assistance in development and execution of maximum utilization of logistical resources. Logistical support is provided in such areas as supply, maintenance, transportation, fleet and facilities.
Duties
Provide guidance, prepare, and recommend new or revised procedures and regulations for local application.
Provide input and monitors the budget for logistical requirements. Review requisitions against authorized allowances, according to the appropriate authorization document.
Identify supply problem areas, determine required corrective action, and provide information to the District Logistics Manager (DLM) on the findings of evaluations, reports, and summaries.
Initiate and recommend actions in the establishment of annual service contracts, as well as inter-service support contracts relating to subsistence support.
Provide input to be used in analyzing and assessing the streamlining of processes to improve customer service.

This is a Term position:
Current permanent Army employee, position may be filled as a temporary promotion/reassignment which may be extended up to a maximum of (5) five years, depending on the need of the organization. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
Non-Army employees, position is a Term appointment NTE (not-to-exceed) 13 months and may be extended up to eight years, depending on the need of the organization.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with logistical support programs such as supply, maintenance, transportation, fleet and facilities; providing input and monitoring the logistical budget; and/or assisting in the disposition and redistribution of excess equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: business, supply chain management, and transportation.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
