The purpose of this position is to perform the wide variety of administrative tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed within the organization. Such work includes functions necessary for the efficient management of an office and ranges from correspondence and information control to ordering and tracking equipment, supplies, and services.

Duties

Provide administrative assistant services to the OAD leadership. May be asked to perform duties as assigned for unscheduled meetings, assist with printing and combining meeting materials packets, make copies, scan documents and fax as needed. Logs in and routes incoming and outgoing mail for OAD, saves to the "O" drive. Drafts correspondence as directed for final signature. Answers the OAD phone, takes leadership minutes and disseminates to appropriate staff, serves as back up for ATS controlled correspondence. Provides front office coverage, records management, ordering supplies/equipment, timekeeping, travel, mails all OAD outgoing documents.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): OPM Link (see Clerical and Administrative Support): General Schedule Qualification Standards (opm.gov) In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: performing clerical work such as preparing, receiving and verifying documents; maintaining office records; and locating and compiling data or information from files other data sources; preparing vouchers and other financial documents. OR, successfully completed 4 years of education beyond the high school level. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: creating a variety of correspondence in proper formats using word processing programs; maintaining manual and electronic calendars to add, delete or change meetings; processing a wide variety of budgetary transactions; serving as a receptionist or point-of-contact for an office; and performing data entry in an automated timekeeping system. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: managing calendars and meeting schedules for higher level staff; performing specialized office tasks in support of a unit including screening training requests; compiling information from a variety of sources to prepare reports; processing a wide variety of budgetary transactions. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
