About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Intelligence & Security CMD, U.S. Army Counterintelligence Command, Technical Support Battalion.

Duties

Conducts the most complex counterintelligence Polygraph examinations on military personnel of all grades assigned to the National Security Agency and on military and civilian personnel involved in Special Access Programs throughout CONUS. Prepares and evaluates polygraph investigative techniques and methods to be utilized during examination and prepares complete, concise investigative reports of all exams conducted. Conducts intelligence operational and specific issue suitability polygraph examinations on cleared personnel in sensitive positions or on those involved in specific Human Intelligence (HUMINT) or counterintelligence Operations located within CONUS.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET level security clearance based on a Special Background Investigation (SBI) and be eligible for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. (SCI)
• Must be able to obtain and maintain INSCOM certification as a Polygraph Examiner.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
• Must have U.S. Army Counterintelligence Badge and Credentials, or must be able to successfully complete the U.S. Army Counterintelligence Special Agent Course located at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
• Must be able to endure extended periods of bending, standing, and sitting.
• TDY may constitute up to 50% of time.
• Must be a graduate of the Psychophysiological Detection of Deception (PDD) Course, the National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA), Fort Jackson, South Carolina, or successfully complete the PDD course at NCCA. See additional information.
• All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
• Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a CI Scope Polygraph Examination and pass random examinations thereafter in accordance with Army Regulation 380-67, Personnel Security Program.
