This position is located in the office of Information Technology, Division of Administration Services, Mid Atlantic Service Unit. This position serves as a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist and is responsible for Telecommunication, System Administration and Customer Support. This position is located at the Chickahominy Health Center in Charles City, Virginia under the Mid Atlantic Service Unit, Nashville Area Indian Health Service.

Duties

Maintaining and supporting all aspects of telecommunication; wide and local area network data storage and relevant hardware, software, and peripherals. Sets priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities. Provides advice, counsel, or instruction to individual employees on both technical and administrative matters. Identifies developmental and training needs of employees providing or making provision for such development and training. Coordinates the performance of acceptance tests; benchmark tests; and other studies used to evaluate acceptability of telecommunications, computers, programs and systems. Serves as an expert in installing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting voice and video services and equipment, array of Microsoft Windows platforms and Storage Area Network. Responsible for the financial development of budgetary needs for the IT program. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-12 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include: Broad and extensive knowledge of systems analysis methodologies and data processing concepts as well as management principles, statistical methods, and public health programs at a level sufficient to perform as a consultant regarding the analysis, design, development and implementation of information systems. Preferred to have supervisory/lead experience and techniques sufficient to motivate, train and work effectively with subordinates in meeting goals and deadlines.
