Duties

Participate as a firefighter crew member to control and extinguish fires. Conduct plan reviews for new construction and renovation of existing structures to determine fire prevention measures. Conduct maintenance inspections or tests on firefighting apparatus and equipment. Perform visual inspections of fixed fire protection equipment to ensure equipment is in correct operational condition.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of pre-employment and periodic subsequent medical examination in accordance with DoDM 6055.06 to ensure continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position requires the incumbent to wear the prescribed uniform and/or personal protective equipment while on duty.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position requires participation in a cardiovascular physical fitness program.
  • This position requires one year probationary period.
  • This position requires a work schedule of 60 hours per week (120 Hours per pay period) which includes at least one 24-hour shift and may include working weekends and holidays.
  • This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program. Individual will have to complete a pre-employment drug test prior to being placed into position.
  • Occasional Travel Required (not more than 5%).
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain/maintain a Government Driver's License.
