This position is located in Management Directorate, Office of Human Capital and Training, Academy Training Center. As a Supervisory Immigration Services Officer, you will supervise a team of instructors and in addition serve as a program instructor and course developer with responsibility for the training and educational needs of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Duties

Provide technical and administrative direction to Immigration Services Officers and support staff. Assign, monitor, and evaluate performance of subordinate instructors and resolve issues presented by subordinates. Participate in the development and implementation of short and long term program goals for the Academy Training Center and analyze any issues related to their implementation. Manage or coordinate classroom activities by providing technical and program guidance to students and instructors in such areas as attendance, academic issues, scheduling, special accommodations, and ceremonies. Instruct BASIC and advanced immigration courses.

Qualifications

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 02/23/2024. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 02/23/2024. GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Providing subject matter expertise in a wide variety of immigration law, regulations, policies, and procedures to varied audiences, particularly as it relates to immigration benefit adjudications. Researching, developing, and coordinating course modules or training programs. Conducting courses, workshops and seminars covering a broad spectrum of subject material that includes areas of Immigration and Nationality law, policies and procedures. Coordinating and/or directing the accomplishment of complex functions. Analyzing issues related to program goals/objectives in the process of developing a plan/solution.
