The primary purpose of this position is to prevent, protect, respond to, and recover from terrorism, criminal acts, and other hazards threatening the US Government's critical infrastructure, services, and the people who provide or receive them
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a Supervisory Cybersecurity Specialist, GS-1801-15, your typical work assignments may include:
Provides strategic direction and oversight to enable the Federal Protective Service to define, prioritize, acquire, govern, manage effectively, and implement cybersecurity programs across the Agency.
Continually monitors, evaluates, and measures the impact of new cybersecurity-related issues and legislative changes that will affect the Agency and its stakeholders.
Supervises investigations and inquiries involving cyber incidents, over an extended period, of alleged, suspected violations of federal, state, and local laws and government policies.
Reviews follow-up investigations and investigative support activities conducted by subordinates and written reports on overall investigative efforts.
Directs strategic and operational planning and execution activities, workforce structure and capabilities development support cyber operations and resourcing, training, and policy compliance.
Assigns workload among personnel; provides authoritative technical guidance, advice, and assistance; monitors progress; and provides supervisory direction and guidance for developing and implementing all cybersecurity activities.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
Continuously monitoring and evaluating cybersecurity programs and operations to ensure staff compliance in meeting strategic objectives and goals.
Providing supervisory direction and guidance for developing and implementing all cybersecurity and operational security programs.
Leading and overseeing the development of agency-wide strategies, policies, programs, plans, and initiatives.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
You must also meet the following:
Pre-employment Medical Requirements: Prior to appointment, you must be determined physically fit by an authorized government physician to perform strenuous and physically demanding duties which may include protecting citizens, taking suspects into custody using reasonable physical force in the face of physical resistance and responding to situations requiring physical agility and quick and legally sufficient decision making. Also successfully pass a pre-employment medical examination (which includes, but is not limited to vision, hearing, cardiovascular and mobility of extremities) given by an authorized government physician. This position may be subject to periodic incumbent examinations in the future.
Motor Vehicle Operation: You must possess a valid automobile driver's license at the time of appointment and be available for frequent travel.
Lautenberg Amendment: This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
Pre-employment Drug Testing: This position requires a pre-employment drug test, and you must receive a negative drug test result prior to appointment into the position.
Physical Security Training: The incumbent must satisfactorily complete (or have previously completed) the FPS Physical Security Training Program (PSTP) conducted at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.
Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
