You will serve as a CHIEF INSPECTOR in the INSPECTOR GENERAL DIVISION of COMNAVREGSW SDIEGO.
Duties
You will assess compliance with regulatory requirements and effectiveness of ongoing operations to confirm the ability to accomplish the organization's mission.
You will develop and evaluate audit criteria to identify individuals or entities engaged in potential fraud and abuse.
You will make recommendations to management for corrective actions that will facilitate process and internal control improvements.
You will influence, motivate, and challenge others to accomplish work that supports operations or the mission.
You will execute the Manager's Internal Control (MIC) Program to provide support or coordination for the operations.
You will make improvements, solve problems, or take corrective action when problems arise with program operations.
You will oversee Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) hotline program to confirm tips and action requests are researched and analyzed for validity and further action if needed.
You will document problems, deficiencies, violations of laws and regulations, orders, directives, or practices for compliance with requirements.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- The incumbent will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- The incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Planning and executing an inspection program that assess compliance of installation programs with applicable regulations to detect deficiencies, improprieties, and inefficiencies; 2) Evaluating the extent of compliance with policies and procedures to deter fraud, waste, or mismanagement; 3) Evaluating the strengths of internal controls within the organization to develop Manager's Internal Control Certification Statement; 4) Conveying evidence gathered in an inspection into an accurate written report detailing findings and recommendations for leadership; 5) Receiving and assessing a variety of hotline complaints and conducting in-depth complaint analysis to determine a proper course of action; 6) Conducting independent and thorough investigations regarding assigned hotline complaints, command directed investigations and other specialized assigned investigations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Moderate physical effort associated with routine travel and office work may be required. While traveling extended working hours, strenuous travel schedules, short-fused changes to travel plans, unconventional modes of travel, and substandard living accommodations may impose additional physical demands.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works primarily in a typical office setting. However, fieldwork may require shipboard or shore activity visits. Under these circumstances normal outdoor environment and/or substandard living conditions may be encountered. Travel throughout the continental United States and foreign, is required. Commensurate with the work environmental, including foreign travel, some physical risks may be present.
