You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INSPECTOR GENERAL in the REGIONAL OFFICE OF THE INSPECTOR GENERAL (OIG) of COMNAVREGSW SDIEGO. Temporary actions taken under this announcement may be made permanent without further competition.

Duties

You will serve as the principal advisor to the Regional Commander on inspections, investigations, audit and compliance matters. You will advise command on IG functions, fraud, waste, mismanagement and related improprieties. You will advise and assist the RIG to develop, formulate and execute multi-year budgets. You will conduct inspections and reviews in accordance with directives and inspection standards. You will serve as manager of the Region Hotline Program with management responsibility for all Region IG investigations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing investigations and inquiries in matters of fraud, waste, abuse and mismanagement of programs throughout the command; 2) Independently plans and conducts investigations ensuring hotline complaints are investigated in accordance with command guidance; 3) Preparing training material on investigative procedures and techniques; 4) Analyzing new rules, regulations or legislation to incorporate new requirements into the organization. 5) Advising, assisting, developing, and conducting comprehensive, targeted, and special interest inspections, assessments, and oversight operations critical to the successful accomplishment of organizational missions and/or tasked by higher authority. 6) Supervising and assessing employee performance and conduct. 7) Developing, administering, and monitoring divisional budget to include government purchase card actions.
