This position is located in the United States Agency for Global Media, Voice of America, East Asia and Pacific Division. The incumbent will serve as an International Broadcaster (Multimedia) (Lao) for the Lao Service. The incumbent will be responsible for conceiving, planning, researching, writing, and broadcasting original audio/video scripts of a highly complex nature and for providing Internet content for websites.
Duties
As an International Broadcaster (Multimedia) (Lao), you will be responsible for duties to include, but are not limited to:
Writes feature stories on a variety of subjects for radio, television, or web or social media posting.
Prepares integrated, highly targeted, well-balanced scripts and production elements for broadcast and/or internet production.
Participates in the development of regularly scheduled radio, television, and new media programs.
Initiates and conducts original interviews with a wide variety of subjects and news sources, some of who may be suspicious and uncooperative.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S Citizen or U.S. National.
- This is a national security position. If selected, this position requires the completion of the SF-86.

Qualifications
Screen out factor: Applicant must have fluency in both English and Lao languages that enables you to speak, read, write, report, and translate in both languages. This language screen out factor MUST be listed in your resume to receive consideration.
Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the GS-11 or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Understanding of video/radio/ Internet broadcasting principles, and method and journalistic knowledge.
Experience and understanding of basic objectives needed to develop and produce broadcasts consistent with objectives and policies.
Skills in radio reporting or videography that enables employee to shoot, using motivated camera movements with a digital video camera.
Knowledge of Laos, its history, economic culture, and socio-political development.
Education
Education is not required for this grade level. It cannot be used for qualification purposes.
