The primary purpose of the position is to ensure supplies and materials are distributed to all areas serviced by Logistics. Leads three or more GS-2005 employees in the distribution area to provide wards, clinics, operating rooms , secondary storage locations, and other hospital facilities with supplies and material including, but not limited to, sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instruments sets, and equipment.

Duties

Performs property accountability duties for the more routine phases of supply management including inventory of nonexpendable medical supplies and devices, reporting excess supplies, etc. Prepares procedures for medical supplies and devices inventory and conducts the inventory. Reviews records and data to determine which medical supplies and devices have become obsolete or excess to the needs of the organization. Responsible for making recommendations regarding space needs and space utilization relative to the inventory under their control. Conducts physical inventories and adjusts and/or maintains inventory stock, or property account records. Performs records functions in inventory, storage, cataloging, receipt and control processes, and reissue and reutilization of inventory. Performs property accountability duties or the more routine phases of property management including inventory of nonexpendable property, reporting excess property, etc. Oversees stock maintenance by Initiate, prepare, edit, and process requisitions to stock items. Make recommendations to Management regarding changes to products, stock processes and other areas of the supply program. Processes supply transactions such as receipt, shipment, and/or adjustment documents. Performs unusually difficult document control assignments requiring extensive and exhaustive searches for required information and reconstruction of records for complex supply transactions. Makes recommendations to Management regarding changes to products, stock processes, and other areas of the supply program. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/28/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. Preferred Experience: candidates with inventory skills, some purchasing skills and customer service skills preferred. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Physical Requirements: Work involves exertion such as: frequently lifting and carrying light-to-medium weight objects (10 to 30 pounds) and continually walking, bending, stooping and reaching. Upon receipt of inventory incumbent will push loaded carts, store and issue items in crowded quarters while handling some awkward, hard to handle items.
