Position Title: Deputy Director, Joint PED Operations Center (JPOC) This is not a Virtual/Remote JDA Series: Requested: 0132 Security Clearance: TS/SCI Assignment Location: Washington, D.C.

Duties

As Deputy Director, you will be responsible for oversight of our Joint PED Operations Center (JPOC) program. This involves setting priorities and providing day-to-day oversight of the program; driving integration with the Office of Intelligence (OI), CBP's Regional Intelligence Centers (RICs), and partner federal agencies. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to lead one of CBP's most valuable missions-sharing information from partners to shape the national understanding of the threat environment. Typical work assignments may include: Develop Division operational and strategic objectives and assessments of program effectiveness in gathering, analysis, and dissemination of intelligence information on an interagency and intergovernmental basis. Direct and coordinate intelligence collection operations of special purpose intelligence teams, CBP-wide, to produce actionable, strategic, operational, and tactical intelligence products with national and international implications. Ensures prioritization of field efforts; and ensures alignment to CBP and partner priorities, risk analysis, information security, Privacy and Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, organizational design, and process flow. Create flexible, practical, and fiscally responsible means to implement a program that accesses, receives, produces, and disseminates information and intelligence; and liaises with other Federal and non-Federal entities to integrate such information to identify indications, assess raw reporting and detect threats to the US Homeland.

Requirements

  • Must be a current permanent Federal employee
  • Must have supervisory approval to apply to the Joint Duty Assignment. DHS 250-2 Application Form under "required documents" section.
  • Must NOT have any pending/outstanding disciplinary actions
  • Must have achieved a minimum of "meet expectations/proficiency" on latest performance appraisal/evaluation
  • Must be currently at the grade level of the detail. *No Temporary Promotion Opportunity*
  • The program does not apply to members of the Military service or contractors.

Qualifications

Qualifications required: Knowledge of the principles of intelligence operations and of analytical, collection and reporting principles used to gather, analyze, and evaluate a variety of information from multiple sources with a focus on FMV and GEOINT information. Ability to plan and formulate policies, procedures and strategies to provide outreach, advisory services and training on intelligence and information coordination operations. Ability to coordinate and synchronize intelligence operations and activities between intelligence and law enforcement agencies. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of management and employees to provide advice on procedures, practices and policies.
