About the Position: Serves as a Health Systems Specialist performing duties in support of the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) and its geographic area of responsibility. This position is located with the Lyster Army Medical Center, Fort Novosel. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Coordinate related activities between the contracting section and Accounts Payable section. Ensure fund utilization is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies. Monitor both supply and demand for health care. Establish good relations with professional organizations. Provide guidance as the Lyster Army Health Clinic (LAHC) Trusted Agent Security Manager (TASM) for the Trusted Agent Security System (TASS). Analyze DTS (Defense Travel System) documentation to adequately address traveler questions.

Requirements

• Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with (1) Coordinating related activities between the contracting section and Accounts Payable section; (2) Developing systems to modify services as appropriate to insure cost control, availability, and quality health care OR (3) Monitoring both supply and demand for health care. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
