About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the HHBN V Corps G-2 Security & Intelligence Division, Fort Knox, KY, 40121-5000.

Duties

Serves as a senior Security Specialist in the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff, Intelligence, FORSCOM V CORPS. Serves as Command Security Manager for FORSCOM V CORPS and staff program manager for the Information Security Program. Acts as the principal advisor for FORSCOM V CORPS in all traditional security aspects of the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Cyber Security program. Serves as the principal Personnel Security (PERSEC) manager for V Corps. Serves as program manager for development of Security Education Training Awareness (SETA) training curriculum/lesson plans utilized within the Corps HQ and by Major Subordinate Commands. Responsible for HQ Corps oversight and management of cleared DoD contractors across the installation.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • May require extended travel away from the normal duty station up to 60% of the time that mayinclude locations Outside of Continental United States (OCONUS) on Temporary Duty or TemporaryChange of Station orders.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid US Government issued Passport.
  • May be required to work overtime/irregular schedules or extended hours due to exercises, nationalspecial security events, or during national security crises.
  • This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD)Certification Program. This is the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Certification Program directed by DoD Instruction 3305.13.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Cyber SecurityIndustrial SecurityInformation SecurityPersonnel SecuritySecurity Education, Training and Awareness Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
