This position is located in Everglades National Park, in the Interpretation and Education Division.

Duties
Major Duties:
Provides accurate and reliable administrative functions for the unit. Demonstrates excellent communications skills. Works and communicates effectively with managers, supervisors, team members, coworkers, partners, and visitors to achieve goals. Prioritizes work assignments and deals with unforeseen interruptions.
Serves as a contact and advisor on matters relating to human resources administration and timekeeping for the unit. Serves as timekeeper and tracks payroll. Assists with human resources tasks associated with the unit.
Prepares formal and informal correspondence. Skilled in typing, word processing, email, spreadsheets, managing database, travel programs, on-line programs.
Serves as the primary administrator of the units operating budget and finances. Reconciles and reallocates funds, tracks credit card purchases and property.
Serves as advisor on procedures for procurement, tracks unit acquisitions and prepares purchase requests.
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.

You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 1 night per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.
You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: performing a wide variety of advanced administrative functions such as coordinating payroll; coordinating and scheduling meetings; preparing and entering personnel actions, data entry; develop reports; customer service; operation of computerized information systems; preparation of a variety of forms and reports; digital and/or hardcopy filing; coordinating travel arrangements; file maintenance; and creating correspondence. You must include hours per week worked.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
