This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. Positions in the Cyber Excepted Service are positions necessary to carry out and support the mission of the United States Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - JFHQ.
Duties
Develop and apply operations research/statistical/mathematical methodologies and techniques to DODIN enterprise performance and risk management problems.
Develops new methods for identifying, analyzing, and forecasting security postures, resilience, and risk.
Advises on operations, cost, and risk analysis-related projects to both internal and external teams and organizations.
Directs and oversees a team of analysts to perform operational analyses, research efforts, and management of internal programs related to the JFHQ-DODIN Operations Directorate.
Reviews, staffs, and make recommendations on JFHQ-DODIN developed models, including cyber and operational risk management tools and models.
Requirements

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Top Secret/ SCI security clearance required.
- This is Drug Testing designated position.
- This is a Mission Essential position.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below
Basic Requirements:
Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in Operations Research which must include developing and implementing research, statistical, and mathematical methodologies to IT operations.

Education
There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GG-14 grade level.
