This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Information Technology Management (INFOSEC) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: You will serve as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) GS-2210-12, in the CSLA, COMSEC Compliance Division, Ft Huachuca, AZ.
Duties
Implements and administers elements of the Risk Management Framework and IAVM Program.
Develops and manages the Organizations Risk Management Framework program that implements information systems security technology and procedures.
Administers programs which address IA operations and IA readiness to include Information Operations Condition (INFOCON) and IA readiness metrics.
Evaluates Information System Security and Computer Network Defense (CND) procedures for inclusion as defensive measures in the AMC/CECOM INFOCON Program.
Advises management regarding INFOCON measures to mitigate a threat to CSLA systems and networks. Analyzes command IA posture and develop input to IA assessment reports.
Ensures conformance with network security architecture and NIPRNET/SIPRNET policy.
Evaluates hardware and software security configurations and performs on-site security assessments.
Reviews system security administrator personnel organization and responsibilities.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a single-scope background investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- This is a testing designated position. Personnel must pass drug screening prior to hiring and will be subject to periodic and random drug testing, thereafter, in accordance with AR 600-85 and Department of Defense Directive 2010.9.
- This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

In addition to the competencies above candidates MUST also possess the specialized experience. Specialized experience includes work that involves: 1) Administering network system, hardware, and software relating to Information Assurance (IA) and related programs such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), Information Assurance Vulnerability Program (IAVM), 2) Managing the implementation and administration of IA or similar program AND 3) Advising on the technical features of networking, resolving problems, in network use as it relates to IA. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-11).
