This position is located in the Division of Administration, Corporate Services Branch (1 position in Dallas, TX and 1 position in Boston, MA or New York, NY) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of leasing, building and facilities operations and support services. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Duties

Serves as the technical monitor for a variety of facilities management and corporate support services contracts making the incumbent responsible for the mailroom; office supplies; express mail; copiers; furniture; fixtures and equipment (FF&E) purchase, maintenance and disposition; construction; moving services; architecture and engineering services; security services; environmental services and the health unit. Responsible for planning and monitoring of contractor’s technical performance; ensures required goods or services are received on schedule, priced-effectively, and of the requisite quality specified in the contract and meet with contractors including contracting staff to resolve contract dispute or issues.  Assist with the coordination and oversight of employee relocations, corporate property moves; organizes support services provided by other offices or divisions and serves as a space planning and design expert when moves, blocking and stacking actions are contemplated. Directs leasing operation activities and functions as the primary liaison for landlord-tenant relations ensures essential day-to-day facilities services to include but not limited to cleaning and janitorial services; electrical, mechanical and plumbing services; building construction services; trash removal and recycling programs; building security; and locksmith services. Conducts routines health/safety and physical security assessments at the regional office and field offices and presents results in written report format and assists with developing security awareness initiatives and activities for regional staff. Conducts market research; develops cost analyses; prepares statements of work and evaluation criteria; prepares expenditure cases and documents for building and facilities operations support contracts as well as leases.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-11 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience planning or managing the operations, maintenance, repair, or improvements of facilities. Experience must be in at least three of the following areas: leasing; office space planning/design; construction; building support services (mail, copier/print services, janitorial services, or equipment maintenance); budgeting/financial analysis; planning or monitoring contractors technical performance; security; or health and safety programs.
