About the Position: This position is located at Army Medical Center Eisenhower, Fort Eisenhower, GA.

Duties

Conduct fingerprinting of personnel for the purpose of new investigations, reinvestigations, and reverifications. Execute and validate security clearances for all civilian, and contract personnel assigned to the Military Treatment Facilities. Grant interim security clearances based on review and analysis resulting from record checks. Recommend procedures for use in local policy and command directives of the Personnel Security Program. Ensure records are kept in compliance with established regulations and intelligence oversight rules. Implement Personnel Security policies and procedures to meet and sustain all aspects of compliance with governing activities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Tentatively selected applicants will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random urinalysis testing.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • A Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee entrance on duty or initial assignment date to this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting electronic fingerprinting of personnel requiring new investigations, reinvestigations, and reverifications; reviewing requests for security clearances and special accesses; and utilizing automated security systems to enter and retrieve information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Law Enforcement, Security, Emergency Management and Criminal Justice. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Information SecurityOperations SecurityPersonnel SecuritySecurity Education, Training and Awareness Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
