Duties

Manage studies and special projects affecting Supplier Operations plans, goals and initiatives. Monitor the collection, consolidation and analysis of metrics and data used to inform operating officials regarding the viability, effectiveness and efficiency of Section programs. Assure plans, policies and procedures reflect proper consideration of higher level initiatives and management control systems. Understand the assembly process in order to oversee the development of delivery and production schedules. Develop, present and promulgate recommendations for changes in enhancements to programs to improve supplier support and satisfaction. Perform requirements computations and analyzes stock positioning patterns, methods and techniques. Works with Enterprise Business System (EBS) applications related to Planning and Procurement. Understand vendor relationship management and collaborates with various personnel both internal and external to DLA. Interpret and apply supply management processes as it relates to milestone charting, forecasting, and manpower requirements.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS- 11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut- off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Working with the laws, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to supply and inventory management. Understanding the acquisition process, automated records and control systems, material substitution criteria, provisioning, distribution and ultimate issue for consumption, retention or disposal. Analyzing work that relates to managing and controlling materials and the underlying concepts for coordinating, determining and regulating the flow of supplies form initial plan through acquisition, storage, issue, utilization and disposal. Conducting evaluations of the demand and supply planning processes. Overseeing the analysis and evaluation of a wide range of inventory management variables. Using supply management process in order to direct analysis and resolution of high complex issues and problems. Knowledge of a wide range of work methods and processes, data management, Operating procedures, and associated administrative operations impacting planning processes throughout the DLA Enterprise. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
