About the Position: This is a Supervisory Engineering Technician (Civil) GS-0802-11 position with US Army Engineer District, Little Rock Operations Division Beaver Project Office in Little Rock, AR.

Duties

Organize the development of plans and specifications for Operation and Maintenance contracts. Oversee contract administration of consolidated contracts at the Project Office. Negotiate and schedule varying workloads with the Contractor and Operations Manager to accomplish work in a timely manner. Prepare detailed drawings to be used by contractors performing various construction, maintenance or renovation tasks. Prepare detailed cost estimates to include material and labor quantities. Administer site inspections to determine degree of work to be performed. Ensure quality assurance as related to maintenance and construction projects. Recommend technical changes in plans when required. Supervise subordinate Engineering Technicians and maintenance personnel who are directly involved in accomplishment of maintenance and construction projects.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is covered by the civilian drug abuse testing program. Incumbent will be required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, "Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the drug abuse testing program."
  • A valid state drivers' license is required.

For outside Applicants (non-Federal) I have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 level in the Federal service which includes: 1) performing on-site inspections of structures and facilities to identify construction problems; AND 2) developing contract specifications to ensure compliance.
