You will serve as an INTEGRATED PREVENTION COORDINATOR within the COMMANDER, NAVY INSTALLATIONS COMMAND (CNIC), FAMILY READINESS DIVISION (N9), FLEET AND FAMILY SUPPORT (FFSP), (N91) NAVSUBASE KINGSBAY.

Duties

You will identify existing or potential risk and protective factors that could lead to problematic/destructive behaviors and recommend preventive measures that the installation, command, or unit can take to address risk and protective factors. You will develop population-based and/or targeted prevention efforts to support the unique needs of the installation, command, and/or unit level. You will assist with program evaluation using analytical techniques and statistical methods to determine program impacts on critical readiness outcomes. You will serve as an installation-based Integrated Prevention Coordinator and is a recognized authority in implementing prevention efforts. You will give routine presentations to leadership on command prevention efforts and impact. You will develop and implement strategies to maintain program visibility and increase awareness at all levels to foster workforce readiness and wellness.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS 09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Experience in applying program management methods and techniques, and implementing prevention programs and related program management activities for the installation and tenant commands to promote healthy climates and to ensure the delivery of prevention activities and approaches designed to foster individual, group, and organizational health and performance to reduce and prevent problematic/destructive behaviors, such as: suicide, sexual harassment, sexual assault, substance misuse, family and interpersonal violence, workplace violence, and military equal opportunity, etc; 2. Experience in advising installation, Command and unit leaders on prevention action plans and initiatives, and developing and implementing prevention assessments and evaluations to ensure leaders have prevention knowledge, skills and abilities to address gaps and promote the well-being of team members, teams, leaders, and the larger organization; AND 3.Experience in consolidating and analyzing data from command climate reports, unit status reports, installation data and other sources to identify critical prevention needs and develop and provide recommendations for addressing such needs. **NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

Substitution of education for experience: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position
OR
Successful completion of 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree.
