About the Position: Serves as Deployment Support Branch (DSB)/Unit Movement Control Transportation Assistant at Fort Wainwright, AK providing technical advice and assistance for deployment, redeployment and mobilization movements of units at Fort Wainwright, Richardson and Greely.

Duties

Provides technical assistance for actual movement of unit personnel and equipment. Provides practical support to units in identifying and obtaining blocking, bracing, packing, crating and tie-down (BBPCT) materials to include secondary loads and container loading. Serves as consultant and advisor for the movement database for units within Fort Wainwright’s area of responsibility. Serves as the assistant trainer and operator for the TC-AIMS II and AALPS systems.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Required to obtain and maintain Transportation of Hazardous Material certification IAW DTR DoD Reg 4500.9-R- Part II, Chapter 204, paragraph D.
• Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain forklift training certification and license.
• This position may require the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
