This position is located at Departmental Offices, Terrorism and Financial Intelligence-Intelligence Analysis. As an Intelligence Research Specialist (Analytical Methodologist), you will serve as the authoritative expert on Analytic Tradecraft and organize efforts to formalize and develop new financial and economic tradecraft in the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Intelligence and Analysis (OIA).
Duties
Pursuant to 50 USC 3024 (v), and with concurrence and consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, this position is being established in the excepted service as an element of the Intelligence Community within the Department of the Treasury.
As an Intelligence Research Specialist (Analytical Methodologist), you will:
Assist leadership in overseeing development and dissemination of current and new analytical techniques.
Serve as an OIA representative in expert-level interagency fora, including but not limited to standing working groups on analytic tradecraft.
Promote team building, eliminate process inefficiencies, and ensure professional development of the office by training and mentoring staff and teams on designing new methodologies to solve problems where established methods and procedures are not applicable or unavailable.
Produce impactful and insightful high-level briefings and demonstrate the ability to identify new analytical techniques.
Assist analysts in developing rigorous analytic writing, tradecraft, and briefing skills and help them employ structured analytic techniques, as appropriate.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience for the GS-15: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following:
-Developing and documenting analytic methodologies or best practices; AND
-Conducting or overseeing analytic training; AND
-Employing structured analytic techniques; AND
-Facilitating brainstorming sessions; AND
-Assisting or mentoring analysts in developing analytic writing, tradecraft, and briefing skills.
