You will serve as a Student Trainee (Clerical/ OA) in multiple departments of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
This position may be located in the following locations:
Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) located in Bethesda, MD
College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) located in San Antonio, TX
Duties
You will receive and route mail.
You will receive and refer telephone calls and visitors.
You will process records, documents, or office files.
You will extract information from office files or other sources.
You will perform limited typing of forms and other documents.
Requirements

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and a current student enrolled in a high school or home-school curriculum approved by a State or local governing body, an accredited college (including technical, vocational trade schools, two or four year colleges/universities), a graduate or professional school (e.g., law school, medical school, etc.) or a Certificate Program in a qualifying educational institution as defined by 5 CFR 362.102, equivalent to at least one academic year of full-time study, that is part of an accredited, college-level, technical, trade, vocational or business school curriculum. Short-term training and/or certificate programs (i.e., several two-week programs completed or class sessions attended over a period of two years) that are not required for the position or which lack sufficient academic rigor, are not considered an acceptable academic course of study.
Applicants for the Internship program must provide proof of continued enrollment at the time of application (unofficial transcripts are acceptable).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
For the GS-05 grade level, applicants must have completed 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
For security clearance purposes, applicants must be 16 years of age.

QUALIFYING EDUCATION:
1) A high school whose curriculum has been approved by a State or local governing body, or a home-school curriculum that has been approved by such a body or a State; and
2) Any of the following educational institutions or curricula that have been accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the secretary of the U.S. Department of Education: (i) A technical or vocational school; (ii) A 2-year or 4-year college or university; (iii) A graduate or professional school (e.g., law school, medical school); or (iv) A home-school curriculum.
