About the Position: Crane Army Ammunition Activity (CAAA) mission statement: To receive, store, ship, produce, renovate and demilitarize conventional ammunition, missiles and related components to meet contingency requirements in support of the warfighter.
Duties
Directs a team of engineers, engineering technicians, equipment specialists, and transportation assistants providing multi-functional equipment-related support services for the Command.
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work as required.
Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
Utilizes thorough knowledge of all aspects of equipment management matters, serving as the technical advisor to senior management for overall equipment accountability, and total equipment management authority for the Activity.
Manages the Activity’s equipment lifecycle management program, ensuring the equipment budget is applied to the most critical equipment purchases while also modernizing the Activity’s equipment.
Oversees and directs the management of the Army-owned and GSA-leased transportation assets.
Coordinates the efforts of the depot operations directorate and the manufacturing and engineering directorate in managing their APE needs and inventory.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for advanced certification in Logistics within 48 months as of entrance on duty.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

To qualify for the position your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience at the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialize experience is define as 1) Communicating with organizations information such as the policies, goals, and/or needs of the organization.; 2) Formulating equipment modernization support strategies by assessing technological needs and resource allocations required to accomplish the mission; 3) Serving as the technical advisor for overall equipment accountability to include disposal and total equipment management authority; 4) Leading a team that delivers support to their customers to include planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short- and long-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
