About the Position: This position is for a Medical Support Assistant (FAP/OA), within the Department of Behavioral Health, Ft. Moore, GA.
Duties
Perform various clerical, record keeping, and miscellaneous duties required for the proper and timely care of patients.
Coordinate and/or schedule patient appointments with various clinics or at other medical treatment facilities.
Resolve complaints of a local administrative nature and refers other complaints to appropriate authorities.
Receive patients and visitors as the initial point of contact in person or telephonically.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement.
- Incumbent is required to be screened for applicable immunizations regardless of series, based on occupational risk, and are subject to missing/required immunizations.
- This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
- Pre-employment physical is required.
- One year probation period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes scheduling medical appointments; creating or reviewing medical files or folders; entering or retrieving patient information; assisting patients or staff members with basic inquiries; utilizing a medical automated software.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
