You will serve as a Supply Technician in the Fuel Department of NAVSUP FLC PEARL HARBOR.

Duties

You will maintain stock and accounting records for fuel and lubricants and perform a variety of administrative duties in support of the department. You will perform inventory control duties involving the use of manual records and automated systems. You will receive, review, reconcile and submit fuel supply transactions (e.g. issues, receipts, transfers, etc.). You will update and monitor database to ensure accurate input/tracking of fuel inventories. You will verify and maintain timekeeping records for department personnel.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing technical supply support work requiring the application of a thorough knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures and instructions concerning management of fuel inventories to process transactions, conduct extensive and exhaustive searches for information, reconstruct records for complex transactions and fuel tank history, and ensure continued supply support. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Perform fuel inventory control duties using manual records and automated systems such as Fuel Manager Defense (FMD) and Enterprise Business System (EBS); 2) Update and monitor database to ensure accurate input/tracking of fuel inventories; 3) Receive, review, reconcile and submit fuel supply transactions; 4) Verify gauges and gallons of fuel with the Automated Fuel Handling Equipment (AFHE) gauging system or by using tank gauge charts; and 5) Assist with the estimate of future requirements for fuel products by analyzing reports showing past consumption and current trends, to include seasonal fluctuations and operational requirements.
