Serves as a Senior Airport Safety Certification and Compliance Specialist for the Office of Airports, Airport Compliance Division (ACO-100) responsible for providing technical advice and guidance to senior management, HQs and regional office staff, and the general public on interpreting, recommending, and developing policies and resolving matters regarding the Federal obligations of airport sponsors.
Duties
Performs multiple, varying and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager, project/program manager, or more experienced technical specialist. Leads and oversees the administration of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 16, Rules of Practice for Federally-Assisted Airport Enforcement Proceedings. Investigates and adjudicates formal complaints filed against airports for alleged violations; leads FAA-initiated investigations; and monitors and ensures airport sponsors comply with grant assurances, Federal laws and FAA policy regarding limits on the use of airport revenue.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I, FG/GS-13 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized experience can be defined as:-Experience in interpreting Federal laws and policy to determine if an airport sponsor’s actions are consistent with Federal obligations.AND-Experience reviewing or writing technical compliance documents such as administrative decisions, policy, guidance, or training materials.You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
