About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Duties
Passes on to other workers instructions received from supervisor.
Perform tests to verify quality of product upon completion.
Ensure supply materials are available for use daily.
Check metal parts received for re-use.
Observe gauges for proper steam pressure and temperature.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI).
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
- This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
- Time Limited Detail NTE may be made or extended at management discretion.
- Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years but cannot be made permanent.
- Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years and can be made permanent without further competition.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Rubber Worker Leader without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to lead as a Rubber Worker Leader. I can perform the most difficult and complex Rubber Worker Leader duties which includes advising employees on major rebuild and reconditioning of solid rubber or semi-solid tires. I am skilled in performing major tire rebuilds, item classification procedures, and use of measuring instruments. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT
The work requires some physical exertion such as lifting, continuous standing, stooping and bending. Requires normal visual acuity, field of vision, depth perception, and reaction time.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts, which require special safety precautions. Works inside shop building on concrete surfaces. Subject to noise, rubber dust, solvents and detergents. Exposure to heat with occasional temperatures between 200 and 360 degrees for short periods of time. Required to wear protective equipment which include safety shoes, gloves, and goggles.
Education
Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
