About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Duties
Utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, depth gages, and rubber hardness gages during inspection.
Verify production operations for conformance with standards
Inspect overall circumference to verify specifications are met.
Ensure corrective action is taken when defects are located during rubber production.
Utilize tools to perform basic inspection techniques of rubber products.
Investigate causes of critical or major defects in rubber production.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position is subject to Overseas Deployment.
- This position requires the completion of an Overseas Deployment Physical Exam if deployed Overseas and an annual exam thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Must obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI).
- You may be expected to travel 25% Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) for business purposes.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
- Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years and can be made permanent without further competition.
- Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years but cannot be made permanent.
- Temporary reassignment may be made or extended at management discretion and can be made permanent without further competition.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 44 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Rubber Worker Inspector without more than normal supervision including conducting process control testing in accordance with published standards. I can utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, depth gages, and rubber hardness gages during inspection, investigate causes of critical or major defects in rubber production and input results of inspection into quality data feedback system. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Efforts-Normally moderate to high physical effort is required in lifting and carrying items weighing from 10to 44 pounds and occasionally heavy lift with assistance. Some assignments require use of difficult test equipment, bending, stooping, standing and walking. Required to wear appropriate safety equipment.
Working Conditions-Work is performed inside on concrete floor. Clothing becomes easily soiled from dust, rubber shavings, etc. Exposed to heat from molds and fumes from rubber solvents.
Education
Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
