You will serve as a Supervisory Industrial Specialist in the Marine Depot Maintenance Command of MAINTENANCE CENTER ALBANY.

Duties

You will analyze and evaluate new ideas, plans recommendations to implement the use of emerging technologies. You will accomplish performance appraisal reviews or provide performance appraisal inputs for assigned employees. You will orally communicate technical advice concerning facilities, machinery, methods, materials and standards for industrial production to others. You will furnish technical information about manufacturing facilities and machinery equipment for the industrial production of major weapons systems and spare parts. You will manage human resources and supervise a subordinate staff to achieve production goals.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Temporary appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You must be willing and able to undergo psychological and physical medical evaluations to verify ability to perform the essential duties of this position without hazard to yourself or others.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Temporary actions taken under this announcement may be made permanent without further competition.
  • Temporary actions taken under this announcement may be terminated at any time before the established not-to-exceed date.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical and administrative direction (e.g., work assignments, work review, leave approval, performance standards and ratings) to trades workers in diverse industrial settings; developing timely and economical solutions to organizational/operational problems; evaluating the effectiveness of new techniques and procedures on industrial operations to ensure compatibility with organization objectives.
