You will serve as a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS REPAIRER in the FLEET READINESS CENTER MID ATLANTIC FRCMA PAX A/C MAINT DEPT MRO PROD DIV of FRC DET MIDLANT PAX RIVER MD MPN.

Duties

You will disassemble support equipment (SE) components and repair/replace parts. You will use test equipment to maintain GSE/powered support equipment (PSE). You will assist Journey level mechanics in more complex tasks. You will accomplish periodic inspections and maintenance on a variety of powered aircraft ground support equipment (GSE).

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION Replace/repair parts; tune engines; adjust brakes; Adjust ignition/injector timing and linkages; Realign gears, wheels, axles, shafts, bearing and similar parts; Accomplish periodic inspections and maintenance on a variety of powered aircraft ground support equipment (GSE); Use common and complex tools; Use test equipment to troubleshoot the mechanical and electrical subsystems of GSE/ powered support equipment (PSE); Utilize technical manuals, directives and work instructions; read and interpret schematics and diagrams.
