This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Clinical Standards and Quality.
As a Project Management Planning Specialist, GS-0301-14, you will responsible for providing day-to-day technical expertise, advice, and consultation on a range of initiatives.
Duties
Serve as a project and program coordinator, providing expert analysis and evaluation of work processes and policies, management practices and work operations that have a nation-wide impact.
Provide technical advice and subject matter expertise to components on global, cross-cutting agency initiatives.
Represent the interests of senior leadership in meetings and workgroups, and, as required,
negotiates with peers to accomplish business objectives and to gain desired management
outcomes.
Gather and analyze data to drive program and project progress.

In order to qualify for the GS-14, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: (1) Utilizing project management principles/skills to complete large-scale projects; (2) Collaborating with internal and/or external stakeholders on program operations; AND (3) Preparing a variety of written products (i.e. presentations, briefings, speeches, etc.) for use by leadership.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
