The Office of the Circuit Executive for the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals located in Denver, Colorado is seeking a qualified IT professional to serve as a member of the Department of Information Technology's circuit security team.
Duties
Working from a formal IT security plan, the team provides risk management, vulnerability management, and security strategies to the courts within the Tenth Circuit. Included in this is support for security tools, policy creation, policy review, security training, and security assessments. The environment is fast-paced and demanding. The incumbent should be able to provide exceptional customer service and work effectively in a team environment.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Serve as a member of the Tenth Circuit IT security team.
Lead assessments with court units, based on industry and Judiciary guidance, utilizing tools such as CIS Controls Self-Assessment Tool (CIS CSAT). Travel for trainings, court-related activities, and throughout the circuit to conduct assessments.
Train Circuit Team staff on best practices and assessment program methodologies.
Provide support on policies, procedures, and technical issues for courts throughout the circuit to prepare for IT security assessments.
Provide leadership, subject matter expertise, and support for court units and executive staff to build clear understanding and transparent management of information technology risk.
Assess the training needs of court units.
Identify training resources for use by court units.
Assist with creating documentation and templates for IT policies, plans, and procedures.
Perform occasional off-hour work.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
At least four years of specialized experience working with information security systems and networks, including the ability to communicate and understand the theories, principles, practices, and techniques of data communications and network management, traffic, and security.
Experience with running a vulnerability management program including risk mitigation and incident response.
Excellent customer service skills and strong written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to effectively communicate with executives and judges and intelligently answer questions about IT-related matters.
Proficiency in Windows, Active Directory, Mac/OSX/iOS, Splunk, Tenable Security Center, KACE and other systems management, security, and automating tools.
Troubleshooting of LAN/WAN, WiFi, and remote access connectivity.
Ability to travel for court-related business (up to 50%).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and/or IT project management and/or cybersecurity certifications such as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), etc.
Federal court experience and/or experience working with court-related computer systems.
