THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D2327000 and is part of the ID 124 Maintenance Squadron, National Guard.
THIS IS AN INDEFINITE POSITION - CURRENT PERMANENT TECHNICIANS WILL RETAIN THEIR TENURE. SHOULD PERMANENT FUNDING BECOME AVAILABLE THE POSITION MAY CONVERT TO PERMANENT WITHOUT FURTHER COMPETITION.
Duties
1. Performs and possesses the knowledge and skills found at the journey level as well as those required for planning, accomplishing, and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program.
2. Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop, which is then completed by the incumbent and lower graded mechanic(s). Independently determines appropriate maintenance procedures such as how and when the work should be accomplished. Estimates manpower, equipment and material requirements. Devises and maintains all program plans and records, is skilled in surveillance and troubleshooting techniques, and is able to determine maintenance/repair procedures needed without benefit of technical supervisory guidance. Plans, organizes and directs shop maintenance programs/procedures under general supervision. Determines approaches, methods and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner.
3. May provide recommendations and input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions such as performance appraisals, awards, position descriptions changes, disciplinary actions, leave, etc. Implements safety regulatory requirements. Ensures that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
4. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

- Must be able to obtain/maintain Secret Security Clearance.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Electronic integrated systems contain large numbers of circuits and functions. They are composed of a number of complete simple sub-systems, such as radar, computers, and missile launchers, which are very closely inter-connected to each other to accomplish the design objectives.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least 36 months of specialized working experiences in performing, training and/or supervising assigned integrated systems repair and maintenance work operations. Must have working and training experiences in the maintenance, repair, and modification of integrated multi-complex avionics systems. Skilled in planning tasks for subordinate workers and expanded knowledge in using the equipment, facilities and materials. Skilled in meeting deadlines, in using time management to satisfy priorities and work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by higher level supervisors. Experiences included redirecting individual workers and resources to accomplish
unanticipated work. Skilled in articulating work requirements to higher level supervisors
and experienced in planning current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing
needs, estimates, and recommending projected work. Competent in researching and addressing work related problems such as, excessive costs or low productivity; and, determining the relevant causes.
