As a Policy Analyst, you will be responsible for maintaining awareness of current and past Departmental issues in assigned areas. You will also be responsible for bringing to the AAG's attention any data or information that may have a significant impact on policies or procedures related to emerging technologies and artificial intelligence, and for supporting and developing technical strategies for the Department related to emerging technologies and AI.

As a Policy Analyst, you may be responsible for:
Developing, coordinating, and executing special projects
Providing guidance and advising on program-related or administrative lawful uses of Artificial Intelligence (AI) policies
Performing a variety of analytical, research, evaluative, or other professional activities
Gathering data and producing reports on the qualitative and quantitative analysis
Supporting outreach to external stakeholders, including state, local, and federal partners, and technical experts
Serving as a liaison between the Office of Legal Policy and internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary.
- Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Policy Analyst, (GS-0301-12), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to the series and grade you are applying to.
For the GS-0301-12:
For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as: Providing guidance and advising program-related or administrative lawful uses of (AI) policies; Identifying short-term policy and program options and making recommendations; Developing a research strategy, collecting, analyzing data, and writing a detailed analytical report.
