Duties
Serves as one of two primary technical advisors for all DLA buildings and facilities (includes office spaces, warehouses, etc.) and capital equipment matters at Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR) and forward locations.
Responsible for monitoring and inspecting quality control programs for assigned Preventive Maintenance, Repair and Construction projects.
Prepares Quality Assurance Reports for assigned projects including civil, structural, electrical, electronic, HVAC and mechanical work.
Analyzes current or proposed facilities projects to evaluate actual/potential effectiveness in achieving or enhancing center facilities and/or objectives.
Ensures the facilities and equipment maintenance costs do not exceed proposed cost estimate both in terms of labor, material and supplies and other costs related to doing business.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Facilities Operations Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Knowledge of the Sustainment, Reutilization and Modernization (SRM) and Facilities Maintenance System programs, coordinating on all facilities related projects.
Developing detailed Scopes of Work and design drawings, prepare cost estimations and prepare work packages for facility modifications, justification packages for replacement of existing installed equipment or procurement and installation of new equipment.
Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, construction, maintenance requirements for HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, elevator systems, horizontal and vertical conveyor systems, weight scales, storage rack systems, and low-pressure air compressors.To qualify for a Facilities Operations Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support
