Duties
The incumbent assists in the administration, development and delivery of information technology (IT) systems and services.
Monitors the Remedy Asset Management support groups, analyzes requests for IT hardware and software requests and provides IT assets to meet those requirements.
Diagnoses and resolves problems in response to customer reported incidents.
Incumbent assists in the coordination of most aspects of IT property management program for activities serviced.
Assists in the development of accountability, disposition and audit procedures and prepares all related reports to include Financial Liability Investigation of Property Loss.
Determines the accuracy of property and supply records.
Participates in IT Inventory Management conferences.
The incumbent assists in conducting studies of ITAM equipment requests to provide accurate technical appraisal in support of a recommendation for approval, modification or disapproval.

Qualifications
To qualify for an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT), your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
- Provide advice and assistance to customers on a variety of applications, operating systems and IT equipment.
- Developing and ensuring the development of time-phased action plans; developing project controls and monitoring project progression, preparing and providing status reports and briefings.
- Possess the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks. analyze problems, determine the depth of the problems and either totally resolves the problems or make practical recommendations on how problems can be resolved and apply this knowledge effectively.
- Plan, schedule and conduct projects and studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in a program or work setting.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed:

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
