You will serve as a Facilities Services Assistant in the Facility and Plant Maintenance Division, Facility and Infrastructure Management Department of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will serve as the facilities central point of contact for initiation and resolution of projects, questions, or problems relating to maintenance, improvement and upkeep of all aspects of the facility. You will schedule and assign work through maintenance work orders and service calls. You will determine the type and degree of repairs needed and coordinate availability of resources and materials. You will maintain records reflecting work order status. You will inspect completed work orders to ensure compliance and completion of work.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Scheduling work through maintenance work orders and service calls; 2) Documenting causes of malfunctions and initiate corrective actions; 3) Validating requisitions based on complexity of work and cost of repair; 4) Maintaining records reflecting work order status; and 5) Conducting periodic building inspections. Successful completed a four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
