You will serve as the Mechanical Shop Maintenance Supervisor in the Production Division, Public Works Dept. Corpus Christi, NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

Duties

You will support and explain management programs to subordinates. You will define the standards of quality, quantity, and timeliness to be met in the area of responsibility. You will set up performance standards, rating performance, approval or disapproval of various leave, disciplinary actions as necessary, initiating commendatory actions, and training and development of subordinates. You will select individual workers for assignments based on character of work, required trade skills, and crew composition. You will plan daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules and the sequence of operations for employees performing the work.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Demonstrates journeyman level skills in one or more of the skilled trades (for example: air conditioning equipment mechanic, power support systems mechanic, electrician, high-voltage electrician, carpenter, welder (sheet-metal mechanic) typically employed in a Public Works Department. 2) Develops detailed work schedules based on sequences of operations, materials, equipment and manpower requirements for projects. 3) Reviews job orders, plans, estimates, and discusses technical aspects of the work with subordinates or personnel in other shops and departments as necessary.
