About the Position: Develops, monitors, coordinates, and recommends policy and program changes for which the Soldier for Life - Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP), Job Assistance/Transition Assistance functions are responsible and transition processing.

Duties

Assists SR Transition Policy Analyst with coordination and recommendations for policy and programs changes for TAP, job assistance/transition assistance functions and transition processing Evaluates Army-wide program implementation, identifies potential/actual problems and recommends corrective actions and changes. Reviews, analyzes, and responds to all special inquiries from the White House, Congress, DOD, DA, and other agencies regarding assigned programs and issues. Provides technical assistance in policy interpretations, program funding issues, training workshops, while performing on-site visits, and in telephonic exchanges with field/MACOM and high level Army DOD echelons. Interprets data and prepares narrative/oral briefings, fact sheets, information papers, graphs and charts to provide the basis for management decisions and program justifications for DA, DOD, and Congress.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent subject to a One-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • Incumbent may be required to perform occasional Temporary Duty Travel (TDY).
  • Incumbent of the position will be required to complete a Form SF 312, Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA).
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves: Gathering information to assist Senior Analysts with recommendations for Army Policy and standardized guidelines for SFL-TAP, transition/job assistance. responding to all special inquiries from the White House, Congress, DOD, DA, and other agencies regarding SFL-TAP, transition/job assistance. providing interpretation of regulatory policies and procedures for all transitioning Soldiers. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
