The Director's Advisor for Military Affairs (DAMA) synchronizes IC efforts that support DoD priorities, strengthens IC/DoD relationships, and serves as the DNI's principal advisor on all military and DoD issues.
Duties
Serve as Deputy to the Director of National Intelligence Advisor for Military Affairs (DAMA), ensuring effective support to the DNI, PDDNI, and other ODNI senior leaders on all issues related to the IC and DoD.
Assist the DAMA by developing initiatives, establishing priorities and closely collaborating across the ODNI and DoD with specific focus on synchronizing intelligence support to modern warfare and Defense Intelligence Enterprise integration with national decision-making processes.
Provide substantive support to executive engagements and interdepartmental coordination between ODNI leadership and senior DOD officials.
Create and sustain partnerships with other IC elements.
Lead and collaborate with ODNI, IC and DOD counterparts on the formulation, development, prioritization, production and evaluation of a broad range of IC and DoD policies, processes, and guidance on IC enterprise support for military operations, including mission enabling functions and intelligence oversight disciplines. Coordinate and communicate these policies, processes, and guidance among IC-DOD enterprise partners.
Lead daily operations of a professional staff in successfully defining and managing complex issues; assess staff performance and advise the DAMA on personnel matters. Collaborate, oversee staff goal setting, and provide feedback on professional development. Establish, oversee, and justify requirements for office personnel, contracts, security, logistics, acquisition, and budget.
Establish and maintain key relationships with senior executive counterparts at the DOD, Joint Staff, Combatant Commands (CCMDs), military services, and the combat support agencies. With the DAMA, effectively establish, strengthen, and leverage a diverse set of ODNI/DOD intelligence partnerships. Serve as one of the ODNI's principal interlocutors with external IC-DOD entities.
Participate in senior level forums overseeing the IC-wide formulation of strategic plans germane to IC-DOD integration. As assigned, represent the DAMA within ODNI, IC, and DOD working groups and coordinate activities across the IC-DOD enterprise as appropriate and strengthen understanding of the ODNI, IC, and DOD challenges to resolve issues.
Build and sustain strong partnerships across the ODNI to ensure early awareness and collaboration on the most pressing IC-DOD issues and DNI/PDDNI priorities. Develop and maintain internal and external networks of subject matter experts to facilitate support for DAMA and ODNI senior leadership requirements.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
Superior leadership capability, with the experience to effectively communicate organizational vision and align employee performance to the mission.
Superior success in senior positions and expert experience implementing results-oriented transformational change with resourcefulness and creativity.
Expert knowledge of the IC and DOD and the roles and capabilities of member agencies.
Prior military and/or civilian experience working in a DOD element such as a Combat Support Agency, the Joint Staff, the Pentagon, or CCMD, or extensive experience within the IC as the primary interlocutor for DoD organizations.
Expertise working in an interagency environment and demonstrated ability to integrate national intelligence capabilities and programs.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience as determined by mission specialty area.

Experience with DoD and IC budget processes.
