Duties
Plans, schedules, organizes and implements outdoor activities. Such activities include but are not limited to cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, trips, skeet shooting, parks, ranges and overnight recreational trips.
Demonstrates techniques and instructs participants in the use of equipment.
Coordinates with installation, county, and state officials on programs and information related to outdoor recreation and required licenses.
Researches, plans and develops or enlarges outdoor recreation areas.
Prepares standard operating procedures. May assist in the preparation and development of the annual operating budget and 5- year plan.
Requirements

- Must be willing to accept a varying or rotating shift to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- The dual compensation guidelines DO NOT apply to this position. All GS and NAF employees holding a Flexible position are eligible to apply for this position.
Qualifications
1. Three (3) years of general recreation experience, demonstrated by applying the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of interests of the individuals or group. This experience may be in, but is not limited to, one or more of the following recreational activities: cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, trips, skeet shooting, parks, ranges, mountain-climbing and overnight recreational trips;
OR
2. A bachelor's degree with a major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation;
OR
3. A combination of experience and education of the above listed criteria. For example: An associate's degree (with major course study as identified above) and five (5) years of general recreational work experience.
