Duties
Operates two or more recreation facilities/areas with diverse functions.
Performs self-help maintenance on facilities and equipment. Prepares work orders for maintenance which cannot be completed by self-help. Recommends purchase/construction of equipment and facilities.
Polices building and grounds, performs general housekeeping and ensures areas are ready for use. Maximizes facility usage for both organized functions and individual development.
Supervises recreation, administrative support and maintenance staff assigned to each facility.
Instructs customers and monitors proper usage of equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Must be willing to accept a varying or rotating shift to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- The dual compensation guidelines DO NOT apply to this position. All GS and NAF employees holding FLEX positions are eligible to apply for this position.
Qualifications
Possess a bachelor's degree with a major study in general recreation, or one of the appropriate fields of recreation such as outdoor recreation; recreation and parks leadership; wild land recreation management; natural resources recreation; youth recreation; public, urban, or community recreation; special populations recreation (e.g. senior citizens, institutional etc.); or physical education to include work experience in supervising support staff in a recreation program;
OR
Possess specialized experience that demonstrated the ability to apply the principles of one or more specialty areas of recreation to include work experience in supervising support staff in a recreation program.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, or evaluating community, industrial, outdoor, institutional, or other recreational programs OR
Planning, establishing, or evaluating a recreational curriculum for junior college or higher academic levels OR
Instructing in the principles and techniques of recreational program planning and management OR
Serving in a leadership role in the programs and activities of local, regional, and/or national recreational organizations.

HIGHLY PREFERRED
In addition to the minimum qualifications listed above a highly preferred candidate will also:
Possess 2 years of experience using MWR Management Information Systems (RecTrac and ACCRO).
AND
Possess a minimum of 6 months of experience with Ski Area Operations.
